From August 2002 to July 2003, The Innocence Mission experimented with offering a free download, one per month, from their archive of rare and unreleased tracks through Due to low server space, each new Track Of The Month (called Rare Track Of The Month in some instances) was posted on and then deleted to make space for the next track at the end of each month.

Tracks 4-8 and 10 have not been made available officially in any other format.

After retiring the first MP3 in the series, "No Storms Come," the band left that file available on their page but no longer identified it as Track Of The Month.
There was no update in January 2003, so "A Hymn For Christmas Day" remained available for two months.
The September 2002 update is not available on

The Track Of The Month experiment ended abruptly in June 2003, although the final track ("Do You See My Brothers Coming?") was available for months on after the updates ended.


The Innocence Mission is the eponymous debut studio album by the band of the same name. It was recorded in six months in several studios in Los Angeles, California, including the Kiva, Oceanway Recording, and the Sound Castle.
