Rebel Extravaganza is the fourth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Satyricon. It was released in 1999, through Moonfog Productions. 00:00- Extravaganza is the fourth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Satyricon. Satyr viewed Rebel Extravaganza as an album that embodies both inhuman and anti-human characteristics: The lyrics are very misanthropic and I feel the album itself is quite cold and cynical. It's not that emotional, it's more lifeless in a way. Satyricon Rebel Extravaganza. Buy from. Satyricon discography all. Intermezzo II 1999. Roadkill Extravaganza - A True Roadmovie 2001. The most important thing was, of course, to make an album that sounded the way WE thought it should. Having said that, it was also important that a band like Satyricon took responsibility and tried to turn things around. Prime Evil Renaissance Remastered Version, 06:13. They may be down to a twosome on Rebel Extravaganza - Frost on Battery duty and mainman Satyr doing everything else - but Satyricon retains the keynotes of their sound - goblin vocals, hyper-driven blastbeats, and sepulchral atmospherics - while managing to experiment with new elements, like a marked industrial tone to the wall of guitar noise that. supplants the synths in many places and - blasphemy - even a more rock & roll feel to some tracks. Rebel Extravaganza, upon actually listening to the album not hype, is the last TRUE Black Metal album from them. It is much more like Nemesis Divina than it is Volcano. Frost blasts like he's never going to again in some songs here, the double foot blast pattern in Filthgrinder was my only takeaway from when I bought & tried it back in the day. Satyricon's form of Black Metal on Rebel Extravaganza is more of an urban phenomenon, dealing more with the problems of being a rebel in a new millennium, and trying to deal with the problems of living in an urbanized, cold, panzer-materialistic world, devoid of real emotion and content
