Album

Exai is the eleventh album by electronic music duo Autechre, released on Warp Records. The double album was released in digital form on 7 February 2013, with double CD and quadruple vinyl versions released on 5 March 2013. At the time of its release, Exai was Autechre's longest album to date. Like other Autechre albums, Exai was followed a few months later by a companion EP entitled L-event. The tracks, all from the same sessions, were conceived of as a series of 12 vinyl records. Autechre may be coming from the same cold, analytical place they usually do, but Exai shows that their skills for crafting sound are stronger than ever. What did you think of this album Love it Hate it. Покупайте и продавайте винил и компакт-диски, формируйте. Genre: Electronic. Autechre have always been at the forefront of electronic music and Exai reinforces this, offering an invigorating, thrillingly cerebral ride in album. Just better. Chris Power of BBC Music was more enthusiastic, calling the album Autechre's best in. Titled Exai, the new Autechre album is Rob Brown and Sean Booth's eleventh full length album, and follows 2010's Oversteps and 2011's 47-track collection EPs 1991 - 2002. With a running time of 2 hours and 32 seconds, Exai is available on 2 CDs, 4 pieces of vinyl, and digitally. Artist Site Released: March 5, 2013 ON Warp. Track listing. Disc one: 1. irlite get 0. Top 10 Autechre Albums . What order would you place the albums in from least favorite to best album and why, if you like. There are only 10 spots and 11 albums, so what album doesn't make the cut for you For now, let's just stick to original releases, excluding bonus disks and bonus tracks. In stark contrast to Quaristice, Exai has no problem taking it time to get where it's going. At times it even seems to meander which is the main thing that places it at number 6. Exai is a wonderful trip down memory lane as the album seems to invoke the entire back catalogue of Autechre. 5 Incunabula. Following this modus operandi, Autechre, perhaps more than any of their musical brethren, successfully tread the middle ground between ancient and modern, analogue and digital, composition and improvisation. Over the course of a generation theyve explored each of these fecund landscapes to the horizon and beyond, all the while manipulating music into contractions that, whilst quite amazingly uncomfortable, never cease to amaze with their richness and variety. Active listening to the entirety of Exai as in eleven is, of course, an endurance test, as it is 120 minutes in length and consists of 17 tracks that could be sequenced in any order with no change of effect. Processing the whole thing is less daunting than it seems on the surface. It begins with the hyper-speed scramble-clutter of Fleure, but beneath that, there is a bounty of tracks that are riveting and accessible, if by Autechre's challenging and meticulously crafted standard. Finally got ahold of a physical copy of the vinyl. Don't agree at all about the packaging being ugly.I really love the cover, the box, the art design and all the chosen colours. Also awesome that it's designed to fit the L-event EP inside too. Slide mine right inside ;)
Thordira
Autechre really demonstrate their amassed skill with electronic music on this album more than any other. Every detail is altered so much throughout the length of the tracks that I can't tell what they are even doing regardless of how much I listen. This album will provide endless thought and contains all the aural experimentation of previous releases on an even larger scale than before. As previously stated here, the box itself is a very ugly package, much uglier than the photos make it look, but the music inside more than makes up for that.
Yalone
Rather than ugly, the box seems earthy yet technical, basic yet efficient, sonically thick yet with hints of colour within...
Hirah
Brilliant album, that really seems to stand the test of time (not like Oversteps for example)...but that big brown 4LP monolith is a really unattractive physical object.
Vudogal
Irlite is a good psicodelic track !! Me gusta tambien ! Saludos

I don't agree neither about "Oversteps". I didn't buy it when it came out, but now I think it's a splendid album with unforgettable melodies. This one is not as unforgettable.
Mavegelv
Haha. No way. The 4LP monolith is gorgeous.
Swift Summer
Thumbs up if you're still listening and considering this album. So dense! Love this one...
Livina
Still listening just as much as I was two years ago. I've been planning on ordering this box set since 2013 and just now finally got around to it.
Anayaron
same here
Rishason
oh yes. Patience with thisone.
Mr.Savik
Wonderful album!
Daiktilar
Just my opinion.
Shakanos
Really so good?
Drelajurus
A challenging and ponderous listen experience. Over all, many of the elements you have come to expect from AE are present here, but with the addition of sound selections that remind the listener of their older works. This LP feels like a deconstruction of many of their technical approaches to music making and with that, each song reminds me of other albums in their back catalog. The biggest question I am facing is not, "is this a good AE album", rather, "am I currently in the mood for this"? If this LP had been released after "Untilted", it may have been an instant AE classic, but at the moment, my listening interest have slightly shifted and therefore, the aural challenges of this sonic art are more in the forefront then the music its self.
